[report] métisse live! vol.6 CHANG JAE HYO with JUNG HYUN AH “눈설장구/雪のチャング/Seol Janggu”

With traditional Korean music as his backbone, Chang Jaehyo has continued to create original expressions through “Puri” and “Sonagi Project”, while teaching Korean music in Nanto for more than 20 years and creating music with national and international artists. Jung Hyona is also a member of the Sonagi Project, and in recent years has also been focusing on teaching younger artists in the traditional music scene.
This is Jae Hyo’s second metisse live since June 2024; last time it was a duo of janggu and gayageum (Korean harp), but this time it is a duo with two janggu.
The performance was mainly improvised with a mixture of traditional pieces. We enjoyed Hyun Ah’s specialty, sombang (dancing and playing while wearing a janggu on her body).
We found Korean traditional/folk music and modern approaches with janggu in their performance.
