We introduce DUO MOSIM from Korea at vol.3.
Chang Jae Hyo is a percussionist, who plays the Korean traditional drum Junggu and uses various instruments or effects. We have enjoyed an excellent business and personal relationship with him for over 20 years in Nanto.
Kim Eung Kyong plays the Korean herp “Gayagum”, an ancestor of the Japanese harp “Koto”. She always supports both scenes of traditional and contemporary.
“MOSIM” means “respect” and “invite” in Korea.
As the word says, they invited us into DUOM MOSIM world, while respecting each other’s and around the world.
Until the day before this concert, as part of the Sukiyaki Meets the World program, they had been going to the school for outreach activities and holding workshops for beginners in the city. And the participants of these program came to the concert. That was a great moment for both of them. (For more information about the outreach and workshops, click here).

We introduce Sato Anna from Amami island, Japan at vol.5.
Amami island, located in the ocean between Kagoshima Prefecture and the main island of Okinawa, preserves many cultures that are both diverse and rare, a mixture of Okinawa and Kagoshima. Among these, the island songs "shima-uta" have a variety of themes, including casual scenes of daily life, farewells, longing, the hardships of colonial times and moral lessons for children, and have been sung around the table with family and friends to the tune of the sanshin and tategoto.
